Located to the south of La Rambla, before the neighbourhood of Poble Sec and the Avenida Parallel, El Raval’s name derives from the Arabic word ‘rabad’, meaning ‘suburb’. The reason being that during the Middle Ages when Barcelona was a walled city, El Raval was located on the outside of the walls and did not initially form part of the city proper. This is also why the famous Boqueria market is located there, just off La Rambla, as this enabled traders to avoid the tax on merchandise imported into the city. However, in the last 15 years or so, El Raval has seen tremendous change to its social fabric owing to efforts made by the local council to reduce crime in the area, and the fast-paced gentrification process which ensued. The University of Barcelona opened a new site there and the city’s contemporary art museum, the MACBA, has also become one of El Raval’s most iconic landmarks. Today the local community remains diverse, with large Sikh and Muslim communities as well as a lively scene of artists and alternative culture. Main features: - 85 m2 in the Raval Barcelona area. - 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom - 1 large room with 1 double bed and wardrobe. - 1 medium room with 1 double bed and wardrobe. - 1 medium room with a single bed and built-in wardrobe - Very bright and furnished apartment. - Bright living room with furniture and sofa, - The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher. Parquet floors. Important Information & House Rules Mid-Term Stay – Barcelona (32 Nights to 11 Months) Nature of the Stay This property is offered exclusively for temporary, non-residential stays. If significant excess consumption due to misuse attributable to the occupants is documented, the additional cost attributable to that excess may be claimed, with the bills for the relevant period, supporting justification and a calculation of the amount. Any utilities payments already made will be deducted, without duplicate charges. The payment schedule communicated before booking details the billing periods, how partial periods are handled and the payment due dates. The final service is mandatory and cannot be replaced by cleaning carried out by the guest. IF YOU LEAVE THE APARTMENT IN A REASONABLE CONDITION, THERE WILL BE NO ADDITIONAL CLEANING CHARGES. Additional work may be required due to excessive dirt resulting from a lack of cleaning during the stay, rubbish bags or bottles left behind, large quantities of dirty dishes and food remains, or stains on textiles requiring specific treatments. If this additional work causes the cleaning and laundry costs to exceed the €130 already paid, the justified difference attributable to that work will be deducted from the €1,000 security deposit. A breakdown will be provided, together with the supplier''s invoice issued at the end of the stay and evidence of the condition of the accommodation and the additional work. The €130 is the price of the standard service: it is neither increased nor partially refunded due to variations in the supplier''s usual costs. It is separate from the €1,000 security deposit and is not a non-refundable cost of the stay. If you complete the agreed rental period and there are no enforceable financial obligations arising from an early departure, the €1,800 will be refunded on departure. Leaving early does not automatically mean losing the entire deposit. Only amounts due under the early termination conditions communicated and accepted before booking, the rental agreement and applicable regulations may be deducted. An itemised settlement with supporting justification will be provided, and the remaining balance will be refunded. No penalties will apply where you have the right to terminate without them, and the same loss will not be charged twice through this deposit, the security deposit or the cancellation conditions.
